In the beginning of 2008 Finam participated in an additional share issue of Transaq, the developer of a brokerage service system, getting a 50% stake in the company as a result. The main product of the company is a software package, which allows trading in the Russian securities market.
Partnership with Finam resulted in a versatile synergy effect: being the leading broker in Russia, Finam shared its knowledge of investor preferences and trends in the brokerage market. Furthermore, Finam started offering Transaq system to its clients and became one of the major clients of the company, as well as an anchor customer. All in all, this led to ithe Company’s revenue doubling in 2008.
